I like to hike and enjoy exploring natural habitats wherever my travels take me. While I am out in the field one of my pastimes is to make detailed observations of plants, and using a plant ID key for species identification. As a trained artist, I also enjoy doing botanical illustrations. Drawing helps me see the details of plants. The sketches, observations, notes, and photographs I take inspire the work I do as a landscape designer.
Almost every summer, I travel to Switzerland, where half of my family is from, and where a few hikes up in the rugged mountain landscape leave me refreshed and inspired.
